Go Fly Kite!!!

Went to the Kite Festival held at west coast park today and saw lots of kite flown at the same time. And i really mean A LOT!!! The kites remind me of the days my late father used to bring me when i was small to the exact same park to fly kites. Really miss those care free days. Didn’t really take a lot of photos today as i am kind of in a laid back mood and just wish to relax and enjoy kite watching. Anyway, here are some of the pictures.

Out of Stock

Kind of disappointed today. I gave a call to Parisilk Holland V to enquire about Nikkor 35mm F1.8 lens and was told that it was out of stock. Oh well, i hope it arrives soon especially when Hari Raya is only 5 weeks away. Need it for close up group indoor portraits. :D

Farewell PWS

Finally after 7 months of internship and employment with Emerson Process Management Asia Pacific, i am going to leave the company and go back to the life of being a student. I have mixed feelings though. The work was interesting but it was quite hard. I met fantastic and nice colleagues but also faced difficult management. Whatever it is, the time spent in the Power and Water Solutions Division was an eye opener and a enriching experience. Will i work there after my graduation? Lets just say, i will keep my options open. ;)

Mini Fireworks for NDP Rehearsal

Went down to the NDP rehearsal again for another photoshoot with Wenwei and Yenling. We stationed ourselves at the steps behind the outdoor stage of esplanade by the river (forgot what it is called now since they build the marina barrage. lake? pond?)

Anyways, we picked that spot just to make sure that no one will block us during our shoots of the fireworks later on. And of course no one did, and in fact no one is there to block the water splashed by the speed boat driven by either the brainless coast guard or navy. I was pissed for a few moments then since my camera got wet. So did Yenling’s and Wenwei cameras. But then again, maybe the performers were just trying to get the spectators in the spirit of NDP and since no damage were done to my camera i just take out my 3M cloth and start wiping my D90.

The fireworks was very short since it was just a rehearsal but it was a good chance for me to try shooting. It was my first time taking shots of fireworks and find it kind of challenging. But it was fun… and wet?
